The Entertainment & Education Group
TEEG Academy story
TEEG is at the forefront of the Family Entertainment industry with brand names like Timezone, Zone Bowling, Kingpin and Play’n’learn. The group represents a portfolio of people, ideas and creativity, with brands that are synonymous with quality experiences that aim to stay exciting and relevant in today’s fast changing world.
TEEG are big believers in people development and engaging their employees and had wanted to roll out accredited learning pathways for years, but hadn’t had the time or resources to do it.
That’s where Academy Ink came in.
Phase 1
While TEEG were keen to roll out accredited training programs, we knew that their biggest priority was to give their team members the training they needed to do their jobs well and get it in their hands as quickly as possible. So we prioritised developing TEEG’s internal learning journey and non-accredited training in the first phase of their launch.
A huge priority for The TEEG Academy was to create a fun experience for their team. So we designed every piece of content in a way that would ensure their Fun Squad (team members) would be highly engaged in their training.
We developed 3 learning streams for their team members (Cafe, Service & Kitchen) to ensure their training was relevant to their job roles. We also developed an “Events Management” module to equip their teams to host incredible, well organised parties for their guests.
We also built out their leadership training, and created a customised diploma course to support their managers.
Phase 2
In 2022, Academy Ink helped TEEG to launch the Accredited TEEG Academy, offering Certificate III or IV in Hospitality, and Diploma of Leadership and Management - with different streams designed specifically for their job roles, like Food & Beverage (BOH) or Guest Services (FOH).
The fun squad were so excited by the prospect that the training they had ALREADY completed with TEEG would lead to a nationally recognised qualification.
When we sent out an expression of interest form, we received an overwhelming response with over 1000 employees putting their hands up to participate.
Having such excitement and enthusiasm around the launch and that rush of enrollments was a real win for TEEG and proved just how effective the Academy Ink learning pathways had been in engaging their team members.
In 2023, TEEG will be celebrating over 40 managers as they graduate from the diploma.
Here’s what they had to say about working with Academy Ink.
Here’s what they had to say about working with Academy Ink.
Investing in the training and development of our team members is part of our strategy to create succession plans and career pathways so that we can promote from within. The TEEG Academy delivered on our platform has been a great way to do this.
Our Fun Squad team members love being able to access their training modules on their mobile device and get the learning done while they’re at work. They utilise the information they learn in the training modules to apply to real life situations on the job, and that’s the beauty of this style of delivery for the traineeship.
Our team members are engaged with the content and can use their mobile phone to complete the assignments. They have fun with it, and that’s why we love it.
