Mosaic Academy

Mosaic Brands is a women’s fashion giant consisting of names like Noni B, Millers, Rivers, Katies, Autograph, Rockmans, beme, W.Lane and Crossroads brands. Spanning the country with 1,100 stores nationally, Mosaic’s collective purpose is to help their customer express their love of life by embracing the truth that every occasion is a special occasion worth feeling fabulous for.

Before engaging Academy Ink, Mosaic had some internal training in place which predominantly focused on policies and procedures.

With a workforce largely made up of women over 35, Mosaic were determined to show their team members how much they valued their development and that there was a learning pathway available to them, regardless of their age or location. The executive team wanted to offer team members the opportunity to obtain a qualification, whilst learning new skills and knowledge that would help them succeed in retail and grow their careers.

What we built for Mosaic

Our first step was to redevelop their existing internal training to align with the Certificate III & IV in Retail. Mosaic wanted to show their team members that even though they may work for one Retail brand, they were also part of the larger Mosaic parent company with opportunities to grow. So with that in mind, we tailored the training to cover the products, services, experiences and types of customers that were shared across all Mosaic Brands.

What started with simple policies and procedures training, grew into training covering topics such as safety, service, sales and store experience, plus dedicated training for leadership and management, including leading difficult conversations, understanding awards and legislation, driving performance and much more.

The chance to earn a qualification through their company’s training was an exciting prospect for Mosaic’s team members, and that excitement led to over 300 team members signing up when the Academy launched.

What they say.

“Our Mosaic Academy programme is about offering our team the opportunity to inspire and motivate each other while gaining new skills, no matter where they are located, or if they’re part-time or permanent.

Our investment in the academy means on-the-job training and development can be delivered across one of the largest fashion retail networks in Australia simply and efficiently and is a way of recognising and developing the exceptional talent we have within the organisation, along with attracting new team members to our brands.”
